Average Joe was already seen as one of Stoke's finest musical talents, but this latest release is something else.

According to rumours, the album - Heartbreaker was written and produced within 2 weeks, the passion and emotion which was clearly running thick at that time is evident throughout the music.

Within a week of the release Joe played to a sold out crowd at Pilgrims Pit, it was clear the album had struck a cord when 90% of the audience were already singing along!

​

We can only hope that the rest of the world now latches on to this talent, and gives Joe and his music the recognition it deserves. 

Last night the inaugural Out of Town took place. Out of Town's aim is to bring great musical talent from outside the area to Stoke.

​

This first gig featured Pollen from Burntwood, Nosebleed from Leeds and Unqualified Nurse Band from Derby. All of the bands delivered and were unreal. 

​

We look forward to seeing what comes next from OoT.

After a superb first season on the air The Honey Box season finale is upon us. This first run of shows direct from King Street Studios in Newcastle-under-Lyme has seen some unreal musical talent from the local area. 

​

Episode 8 will comprise of KING KULA, Onyda, Emily Jones and L.F.E. Leah Hamer will be in attendance to present and she'll be joined by a special guest presenter *intrigue*.

What a great time of year this is, after the unreal Your City Festival only 2 weeks ago we now have Lymelight this weekend!

Based in Newcastle Under Lyme town centre the music will be spread across 2 stages and include performances from some top local talent. There's refreshments (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), a market and even a fun fair! 

​

Lymelight's on 28th April - 1st May so make sure you get down and catch some/all of this spectacle.

This weekend was no ordinary bank holiday in Stoke-on-Trent, this weekend brought with it the inaugural Your City Festival.

Your City is a weekend-long project that aims to galvanise the great people of Stoke, it aims to create awareness by offering ample exposure to the local artists, venues and music professionals that help to mould Stoke-on-Trent's musical culture.

The team behind Your City is formed of a group of Staffordshire based individuals from varied backgrounds within the local music scene, this team is passionately dedicated to the evolution of Stoke-on-Trent's music industry and has put an enormous amount of energy into establishing the area's first city-wide music event.  

​

Venues involved in this years festival were: The Sugarmill, The Underground, The Exchange, The Basement, Airspace Gallery, The Terrace, The Glebe, Pilgrims Pit and The Rigger. The acts involved this year number too many to mention but needless to say that the amount of talent on offer was incredible.  

​

Just under a month to go until an unreal event makes a much awaited return. CULT, a night which has been the showcase of some immensely talented acts brings us another top line-up comprised of Jason N Smith, Richard Redwin, L.F.E, Grief AKA Ollie Griffiths, Blazer and Jon Paul Green.

A venue of unique character was needed to host such a spectacular line-up, that has been found in the form of Pilgrims Pit in Stoke. Pilgrims Pit has played host to all manner of groundbreaking events including the Stumm EP Launch of our very own Macious in February.

The wheels of Exit Pupils are in full motion after completing their second day of recording today at UTC Studio. Limited information will be given at this stage but safe to say that this release will be something else, we're buzzing our knackers off!

Last night at The Basement in Stoke-on-Trent was no ordinary night, an event of EPIC proportions took place.

​

The OYB team were some of the lucky few who witnessed the arrival of the sky god ANU. He astounded the crowd with his otherworldly creations and left his followers begging for more.

When will he return? We can only pray that it's soon...

Tomorrow night brings an event of epic proportions, the launch of the brand-new Macious EP 'Stumm'.

​

The venue is Pilgrims Pit in Stoke, tomorrow it will be a magical arena for the unveiling of a musical masterpiece that will capture the imagination of everyone in attendance.

​

The night will contain performances from some of the most talented spoken word artists and musical acts that the city has to offer. The event is now also SOLD OUT, we truly feel for anyone without a ticket.

​

Stumm will be released on iTunes, Spotify etc very soon, keep your eyes peeled...

On Saturday OYB were at the Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire. This unreal event is only in its second year but has already established itself as one of the most anticipated spectacles of the year.

We were lucky enough to be involved personally in 2 awards - we presented the award for Best Urban Act which went to Blazer, congrats! but more importantly our boy Macious was up for Best Electronic Act and WON! The room erupted when it was announced and here at OYB we're still buzzing. Massive credit to everyone involved, you all pulled off an unreal night, we can't wait till next year.

This Saturday brings the arrival of a much anticipated event, Trading Love Culture Festival will play host to an abundance of talent. Poets, actors, spoken word artists, dancers, musicians and much much more will be on offer over 12 hours at the Tontine Building in Hanley.
